Representative McLachlan called the meeting to order and Representative Esgar provided info on what the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) will cover during the meeting. Representative Esgar mentioned that commitee members can refer to the JBC rule book as a resource throughout the discussion and in the future. The JBC rule book can be found here: http://leg.colorado.gov/publications/fy-2020-21-staff-budget-briefing-summary
Representative Esgar introduced JBC staff: Ms. Carolyn Antman (new director), Amanda Bickle, Craig Harper, and Andrew Forbes. JBC member, Senator Zenzinger introduced budget requests regarding K-12 matters.

Senator Zenzinger referred the committee to the FY20-21 JBC Rule Book. The book highlights the requests that JBC has received and budget amendments. Requests and fiscal trends referenced in the JBC rule book were discussed along with questions about the book.

Representative McLachlan called the committee to order and welcomed Dean Rebbeca Kantor, CU Denver. Dean Kantor introduced her presentation by highlighting that she will cover Teacher Prep and Innovation at CU Denver's School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) . Dean Kantor started her presentation by discussing: CU Denver's current residency model, the four goals established between the SEHD and districts/schools, and core elements and accountability for the SEHD and district partnerships. Dean Kantor discussed newer efforts by SEHD since 2013 to create new pathways into teaching. Dean Kantor answered questions from the committee following the conclusion of her presentation.
