10:10 AM -- Presentation on Aging and Technology
Ms. Karen Brown, representing Senior Matters and Aging 2.0, presented to the committee on technology designed to help aging family members and their caregivers. She distributed a copy of her presentation (Attachment A) and a handout (Attachment B) to the committee. She discussed her personal experience with her aging mother and the costs associated with aging. She gave demonstrations of several technologies that help seniors with independence and mobility. She noted that products that utilize voice commands can help seniors overcome various physical and technology barriers.

Ms. Brown continued by discussing future projects, such as using robots as social companions and caregivers. She answered several committee questions regarding privacy issues, insurance reimbursements, transportation, and several products she demonstrated.
